Summary
An intensive week working on a design sprint to answer some critical questions around the role and future of the BCA Buyer App.
The goal was to create a vision of how the app could become an integral tool throughout our users daily workflows.
At the end of the sprint we’d present our findings and ideas to the business through a functioning, visually impressive prototype to truly demonstrate how the Buyer App could significantly assist customers at any stage during their purchase journey.
The best ideas and features would then feed into future priorities for UX research and then if successful with our customers will then shape our future roadmap for months and years to come.
The result
I played pivotal role throughout the sprint, from creating the solution that received the most votes to significantly shaping our storyboard of how we’d present the most popular features, to finally leading the design for our high-impact prototype that we used to present back to the business.
The following is a short showcase of some of the features we presented.
Personalised daily tasks
Upon a warm welcome back to the app users clearly see a list of their remaining tasks for the day. These can be personalised to the user and their responsibilities within their company and are displayed in priority order so they never miss out on vehicles up for sale or invoices that are due.

One of the biggest frustrations customers have with the current app is the level of detail and clarity of information around the condition of vehicles. This information is now front and centre though easy to digest high level summaries designed to allow customers to make fast informed decisions with confidence.
Stay on top of your bids
No longer do users need to wait during live sales for their vehicles of interest to be auctioned. We’ll notify them before it’s about to be auctioned and they can keep track of progress from the Dynamic Island. When it’s time users can and even bid directly from the Dynamic Island without even having to open the app.
Many of the daily tasks performed in the app can now be observed and actioned outside of the app. Allowing users to customise their iPhone home screen to simplify and streamline their workflow. All the benefits of our daily task planner can be seen without even opening the app!
